For they will invite you back, and that will be your only reward. ¹³ Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. ¹⁴ Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.”

It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. I want to suggest some bad excuses why men forget a gift on Valentine’s day…

~ The florist couldn’t find your house. Did you move?

~ I didn’t know you liked jewellery.

~ I thought we would do something different this year.

~ You didn’t remind me.

Excuses. Our text today talks about excuses. But not just excuses, there’s an invitation to a party, their is the offer of embrace, and an untimely refusal.
